Rally and March to Call For a Ceasefire in Lebanon PDF Print E-mail
Saturday, July 29th @ 12:00 Noon
Spring Garden Public Library

A peaceful march to call for peace in the Middle East.  Join this march to call for a ceasefire in Lebanon, Israel, and Gaza.
End The Assaults: Peace for Lebanon, Peace for Gaza

Organized by a coalition of concerned Haligonians including:

Canadians Arabs and Jews for a Just Peace; Students Coalition Against War; Halifax Peace Coalition; Palestine Solidarity Society; Canada Palestine Association

We call on the Canadian Government to demand an End to the violence, demand an immediate ceasefire, and provide UN peacekeepers not NATO troops to enforce it.

"Indescriminate shelling of cities constitutes a forseeable and unacceptable targetting of civilians. Similarly bombardment of sites with alleged military significance, but resulting invariably in the killing of innocent civilians, is unjustifiable."
- Louise Arbour UN Human Rights Commissioner, and former Prosecutor in the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia
